
What is the Bujinkan?
The Bujinkan is a system consisting of nine schools of traditional Japanese martial arts and ninjutsu, formed by Soke Masaaki Hatsumi as taught by his instructor Toshitsugu Takamatsu. The techniques of the Bujinkan involve striking, grappling, and traditional weapons.
The schools of the bujinkan are:
1) Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu
2) Koto Ryu Koppojutsu
3) Kukishin Ryu
4) Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
5) Shinden Fudo Ryu Daken Taijutsu
6) Togakure Ryu
7) Gikan Ryu
8) Kumogakure Ryu
9) Gyokushin Ryu
Training in the Bujinkan is varied and interesting. Classes may include working on striking, practising technical locks and throws, sparring, rolling and breakfalling, traditional combat techniques, or modern self defence.

Classes also include work on traditional weapons including sword, bo (staff), sticks, rope, knife, spear, and more.
